A native of Frankfort, Noel “Nole” Caldwell received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Georgetown College, and went on to earn a Juris Doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law. Noel began his professional career as a prosecutor in Lexington, where he gained valuable trial experience and first-hand knowledge of what criminal defendants face throughout the legal process. Following his time as a prosecutor, he entered private practice with a focus on criminal defense, also handling personal injury cases and general civil litigation.
Noel left private practice for a period of time when he was appointed as Kentucky’s first Executive Director of the Kentucky Business One-Stop Portal – a single, unified electronic entry point to government for prospective and existing business owners. During his tenure, the One-Stop Portal was recognized nationally and locally for its success when it received the 2015 Digital Government Achievement Award from the Center for Digital Government, and in 2014, the Best IT Collaboration Among Organizations Award at the Kentucky Digital Government Summit.
Following his stint in government, Noel returned to private practice in Central Kentucky. He is an active member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is admitted to practice in all courts of Kentucky, including the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky.
